Brennan Dickenson has agreed a new one-year deal with Carlisle United.
The left-sided player has signed to remain at Brunton Park for the 2022/23 season.
The 29-year-old follows Taylor Charters in agreeing new terms with the club.
It takes Dickenson into a third season with United, having been offered a fresh contract at the end of last term.
Paul Simpson says he is delighted Dickenson has agreed to stay - and believes he can be an asset to United.
"I think there is so much more to come from him and I'm looking forward to getting him back in for pre-season," said Simpson on the club website.
"When you're in a situation like we're in you need players who tick a couple of boxes, and he gives us a bit of versatility.
"I'm obviously biased but being left-footed I don't think you can have too many players with that attribute in your group.
"Without any doubt this is a great opportunity for him to kick on. He's got athleticism, power and very good ability.
"I really do think there is more to come from him and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Former Gillingham, Colchester United, MK Dons and Exeter City man Dickenson joined Carlisle in the summer of 2020 under former boss Chris Beech.
He has made 55 appearances and scored three goals, featuring in a number of positions including the left of an attacking three, left and central midfield, and on the left of the defence.
