Carlisle United's Tristan Abrahams will bid to keep Grimsby Town's promotion hopes alive today.
And he could come up against a former Blues man in the process.
Abrahams will be in the Mariners squad that heads to Wales to take on Wrexham in the National League play-off semi-final.
AHome defender aron Hayden, who left Carlisle for the big-spending Red Dragons on the eve of the 2021/22 season, is battling to be fit for Phil Parkinson's home side.
Hayden has missed the last three games with injury, with Parkinson this week telling The Leader that the ex-Blues centre-half was "closing in on a return".
Grimsby set up the semi-final against second-placed Wrexham with a dramatic extra-time victory in their eliminator game at Notts County on Tuesday.
Abrahams came off the bench in their 2-1 comeback, making his 19th appearance of his half-season loan spell.
He joined the Blundell Park club in the January transfer window, and has scored four goals in his time with Paul Hurst's side.
Hurst, speaking ahead of the game (kick-off 12.30pm), said: "The table says we're playing the second best team in the league.
"We're underdogs going into the game. Most peope tuning in or going to the game ill be expecting to see Wrexham win.
"We've got to do all we can to see if we can make that not happen."
The weekend's other play-off semi-final sees Solihull Moors at home to Chestefield on Sunday.
Former United defender Mark Ellis, currently on loan from Barrow, is likely to be in the Solihull squad.
