ROBINS SIGN ANFIELD PROSPECT AND BOLTON MAN

Swindon Town have signed young Liverpool defender Tom Clayton for an undisclosed fee.

He joins Bolton Wanderers midfielder Ronan Darcy at the County Ground.

The 21-year-old Clayton has signed a two-year deal with the side who visit Carlisle United on the third weekend of the new season.

“I’m itching to get started and push myself hard here. I want to become a first team regular and show the fans what I’m about," Clayton told the Robins' website.

Darcy, meanwhile, has moved for an undisclosed fee having trained with Swindon this summer.

HENDO BACK AT DALE

Rochdale have brought veteran striker Ian Henderson back for a second spell at Spotland.

The 37-year-old returns to the club on a one-year deal, two years after leaving Dale for Salford City.

DONNY WINGER RULED OUT

Experienced wide man Jon Taylor will miss the start of Doncaster Rovers' season.

"Jon Taylor pulled his quad in training the other day,” McSheffrey told the Doncaster Free Press.

"It’s quite a bad one, so Jon will be missing for at least a couple of months.

"We’re gutted for him. He was just getting to a level where he was getting up to speed and was training well.”

U'S EYE IRON MAN

Colchester United trialist Ossama Ashley has impressed in pre-season, says assistant boss Joe Dunne.

The released West Ham United midfielder, 22, will continue his bid to earn a deal.

DEPARTURE FROM BANTAMS

While Bradford City have been among the busiest League Two clubs in the market, one player has left Valley Parade in recent days.
