Carlisle United fans gave us their views on Twitter after the 1-1 draw with Swindon Town. Here is a selection.
We have to find the net far more often given that we have had 53 goal efforts and only three goals to show for it. A 1/18 ratio needs to be improved. If we can find the net, the division is our lobster (or oyster). (@BruceVander)
Decent performance for me, we’re obviously very disappointed with those chances missed but overall happy, two wing-backs were outstanding and have just about erased the memory of the last horror show against Swindon (@matty017)
Jon Mellish needs to empty his pockets tonight and he might just find McKirdy in there (@IvanNewsome24)
First game of the season for me and we're looking much stronger overall. Patrick and Gibson not quite with it today. Ellis and Back settled into a good understanding. Mr McKirdy must be practicing for a post-football career as a pantomime villain with the amount of playacting. Honestly, if it wasn't for the confusion he caused with that pratfall, they wouldn't have scored. Blues definitely had the better chances. Shame that they didn't capitalise on those sitters. (@EarnThtDanegeld)
All in all a nice improved performance than the last time we met...we played with confidence and composed at the back. 90 per cent we are there...when the final 10 per cent clicks we are going places (@Lee_Wilson_CUFC)
Good performance but can be better, Swindon were very poor and a sloppy goal but bounced back very well. Needed Edmondson, feel like he would have put them away. At the end of the day a point is a point (@ITZ_FUZE_7)
Decent performance. Finishing needs a lot of work. Another game that should’ve been dead by half time. Two points dropped really but not the end of the world. (@parkinsonross)
We just need a bit of composure in front of goal. Definitely heading in the right direction. (@CraigCdaley83)
Soft goal to concede, missed two sitters, two points dropped. McKirdy never got a look in apart from one killer ball across the box in the first half that nobody got on the end of. Good progress from last season. (@3ddiew)
Bearing in mind we had Feeney and Edmondson out, the team coped well, a bit more composure and we woulda beat them. Pleased Dennis broke an old record, now four in four, he’s having a cracking spell. Huntington will shore the defence up and add the experience we need (@carlislekev)
Great game. Considering the conditions, a very good open game of football. Draw is a fair result. (@Playbytherulz)
Poor goal give away, had two good chances to win it but we’d have taken a draw before the game. (@BrendanRogers69)
The team needs time to gel but they’re already showing a strong spirit and self-belief. Think it’s significant that this is the second league game in a row where they’ve come back from a goal behind. Need to finish chances though. Fin Back a class act and young Jack Ellis did well. (@ctrlamb)
Familiar tale this season of failing to take our chances. Good news is we are creating chances. (@hatkinson5527)
Three mistakes mean we don't win. Should've won 3-0 but decent performance (@Cazzum01)
Under-strength team, so happy with the point. Good, solid display all round and some excellent individual performances eg: Mellish, Whelan, Ellis and Moxon. (@RonnieSmith1964)
I was surprised at the intensity of the game in the conditions but the boys kept up the pressure till the end. Always a chance at 1-1 late on that somebody will slip up, AKA squeaky bum time! But not today. No weak links, unfortunate for their goal, but excellent again from Denno. Four in four and looking good for a record breaking season. He looks every inch the goalscorer we were told he is. Loved the high-tech cooling system devised by Kit man Col. Soaking wet towels in a plastic bin... (@LindaNi121202)
I won’t sleep tonight over those tap ins. Performance-wise good though. (@dubhead77)
Overall a good performance but it feels like we should’ve won. Gifted them their goal and missed a couple of golden chances of our own. Considering the injury list and players missing I’m happy with a draw. Ellis is one for the future and Dennis is giving us an edge up front (@tim_martland)
Considering all the injuries, this team performed well and with a bit of luck could have won. With a full strength team and everyone fit, there will be no worries here for this season. Simmo is King. (@peterjo91525330)
We looked solid at the back which was my worry with so many injuries. Moxon is going places, looks like someone who's played 200 league games. Patrick looked off the pace but will surely get sharper. Mellish was terrific on McKirdy. Soft goal where we didn't play to the whistle. (@JRBulman)
It was a decent entertaining game, both teams played their part. Again Blues missed too many good chances; pretty even game, fair result. Both teams could easily be fighting at top come April. Critique - Carlisle need to be converting more of their chances. (@IanWsanderson)
