Nick Miller produced a season's best performance in the final of the men's hammer in the European Athletics Championships.
The Carlisle star threw 77.29m in Munich.
It saw Miller, from Scotby, finish eighth in a competition won by Poland's Wojciech Nowicki.
It was a strong end to the season for the 29-year-old shortly after his recent Commonwealth Games gold medal.
Nowicki threw 82.00 to win gold in Gremany, with Hungary's Bence Halasz taking silver with 80.92 and Norway's Eivind Henriksen bronze with 79.45.
Miller's best effort in Munich was further than his throw of 76.43 in Birmingham which was enough to land the Border Harrier's second consecutive Commonwealth title.
