Former Carlisle United deadline-day signing Mitchell Roberts has made a move to the National League.
The ex-Blues loan defender has joined Oldham Athletic on loan from Birmingham City.
The move sees 21-year-old Roberts join the former Carlisle contingent at Boundary Park.
He will play under manager John Sheridan and his assistant Tommy Wright, while the Latics squad includes ex-Blues players Magnus Norman and Hallam Hope.
Roberts was part of a cluster of new signings at Carlisle on January's transfer deadline day and the left-sided player went on to make six appearances in the second half of the 2021/22 season.
After returning to his parent club at the end of the campaign, he now moves to non-league;s top tier with relegated Oldham.
Sheridan, speaking on the Oldham website, said: “Mitch is a very capable young defender who has built up a good reputation at Birmingham, he has a solid reading of the game and can use the ball well.
“He is tall and athletic, gives us good balance and has a lot of the qualities a manager looks for in a modern defender."
Roberts added: “This is a massive opportunity for me at a very big club and I’m really pleased to be here."
