Hartlepool United 1 Carlisle United 3: Owen Moxon and Omari Patrick completed a memorable comeback win for the Blues against Keith Curle's Hartlepool.
Moxon equalised and sub Patrick hit two in quick succession as Carlisle came from behind in the north east to climb into the play-off places.
Alex Lacey had given the home side a first-half lead but Paul Simpson's side impressed after the break in front of 691 jubilant travelling fans.
Lacey shot the hosts in front in the 43rd minute after Carlisle had failed to make the most of some good openings.
But Moxon's impressively-taken second goal for the club in the 54th minute levelled things.
And then Patrick made a decisive impact from the bench, scoring his first goals of the season before going off injured in added time.
The result - a second successive away win - takes United up to seventh in League Two and extends their unbeaten run to eight league games.
Blues boss Simpson named an unchanged XI but was boosted by the return of Ryan Edmondson to the squad.
The striker was named among the subs as he returned from the ankle injury that had kept him out for a month.
Jack Stretton got another chance in attack with Corey Whelan keeping his place despite the challenge of fit-again Morgan Feeney.
Hartlepool boss Curle, meanwhile, recalled Reghan Tumilty for the injured Rollin Menayese, while midweek matchwinner Wes McDonald got a start in place of Callum Cooke.
Pools picked up an early booking for Tom Crawford for bringing down Jordan Gibson, before Jon Mellish couldn't control a Callum Guy pass in a useful United position.
David Ferguson picked out Jack Hamilton for the hosts but the forward headed wide, before Paul Huntington failed to test keeper Ben Killip when attacking a Moxon free-kick.
United then forced a great chance when Fin Back rose to win a hanging Jack Armer cross, but Killip saved Gibson's finish at point-blank range.
Kristian Dennis was next to shoot wide for Carlisle before Jack Stretton was sent through, the forward staying on his feet as he appeared to be pulled back by Tumilty with nothing given by the officials.
Tomas Holy then made two impressive close-range saves from Jack Hamilton, though the offside flag was also up, before Mo Sylla miscued a finish from a good position.
That came from a Ferguson delivery, with the left-sided Pools player a consistent danger with his crossing.
And after Gibson fluffed one shot and fired another one wide when Armer was well placed to his left, Pools opened United up via a set-piece.
Ferguson's free-kick delivery was allowed to land in United's box, and Lacey - seemingly played onside by Whelan - was able to turn and rifle high past Holy for the opener.
After the break, Harrison scuffed a shot off target before limping off to be replaced by Mikael Ndjoli.
And moments later Carlisle broke through for their impressive leveller, as Moxon powered through midfield, skipped past McDonald's challenge and steered a low shot past Killip and into the bottom corner from outside the box.
It was a second goal for his home-city club for the Denton Holme midfielder, whose name was sung by the travelling fans.
And it saw the tide turn in United's favour.
Gibson couldn't make the most of a chance before Holy, at the other end, safely kept out a Ferguson shot.
Jon Mellish then made a barnstorming run to force one of a string of corners for the Blues in front of the away end.
United lost Fin Back to what looked a hamstring injury, Edmondson coming off the bench and Gibson moving to right wing-back.
Simpson then introduced Patrick for Stretton - and nine minutes later the sub put Carlisle in front, taking on his man on the left, cutting in, showing patience as he looked for the shooting chance - and eventually slotting low past Killip.
It was his first of the season - and was followed seven minutes by another, when the attacker sped onto an excellent Gibson ball over the top, and beat Killip with his second touch.
Holy raced up the pitch to join in the jubilant celebrations before, at the other end, Paul Huntington timed his challenge superbly to deny Umerah when the Pools frontman looked clean through.
Carlisle saw through the closing stages, though Patrick failed to finish the game as he went off injured in added time.
