Two of Carlisle United’s young loan players helped their respective clubs to excellent victories over the weekend.
Defender Max Kilsby got his latest start for Annan Athletic as they picked up an impressive win at Stirling Albion.
The 19-year-old United pro contributed to a clean sheet as Peter Murphy’s improving side claimed a 2-0 triumph against Scottish League Two’s second-placed side.
Kilsby played the full game as goals from Tommy Goss and Chris Johnston earned Annan back-to-back wins for the first time this campaign - and inflicted a first home defeat on Stirling this season in the process.
They now sit seventh in the table, with Kilsby’s outing his tenth in the league for Murphy’s side during a half-season loan.

In Northern League One, there was a welcome win for Carlisle City, for whom young United goalkeeper Lewis Boyd made his latest appearance.
Jim Nichols’ side won 3-2 at Pickering Town for their first victory in 11 games.
City trailed 2-1 at the break with Josh Simpson’s free-kick pulling them back into it after two goals in a minute had put the hosts in command.
Nichols’ visitors then levelled through Callum Birdsall before Marc Gallimore – son of former Carlisle United favourite Tony – headed the winner on his Northern League debut.
United youth keeper Boyd, who is on a work experience loan, was called into action with a number of saves as City, now 12th, gained three much-needed points against the division’s second-bottom outfit.
It was a particularly impressive showing from City on a day they were without a host of players and only had 11 available for the trip to north Yorkshire.
In Scotland’s Lowland League, meanwhile, Lewis Bell was involved for Gretna 2008 as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Hearts B.
Blues winger Bell played the full game as Michael McIndoe’s side scored twice through Adam Forrester before Aidan Munro cut the deficit.
Gretna sit 16th, Hearts having moved a place ahead of the Raydale Park outfit.
In Northern Premier League Premier Division, Sam Fishburn was not involved for Morpeth Town in their 3-0 defeat at Nantwich Town.
