TWO Cumbrian boxers travelled across Europe to fight in the name of their country.
Carlisle-based lads William Brand and Frazer Hirsch, who train at Tapout Knockout, competed in Germany both putting out performances which they can be proud of.
William Brand took on a European champion in boxing but unfortunately took a narrow defeat on points. The fighter was winded in the first round but showed true grit and determination, with plenty of coaxing from his corner, to come and finish strong.
Frazer Hirsch, who currently has around six fights under his belt, walked away with a victory in a mixed-martial arts bout after a successful second round ground and pound stoppage.

Coaches Michael Tedham, Pat Carr and Bertie, along with 20 other local lads travelled across Europe to cheer on the fighters.
"To be honest, it's absolutely terrifying when you go to another country for this but it's absolutely brilliant same time," Coach Michael said.
"Brand got caught a good one in the first round but we were absolutely screaming at him to get back to his feet, I think that boosted him and he dug in and went solid rounds the rest of the way. It was just the first round that let him down.
"I think the corner screaming at him to 'get up' might have helped," he said.
The coach said it was certainly a party atmosphere none the less from the fight ending, all the way back home.
"Huge thanks to Eilbeck Motors Ltd for sponsoring the travel and back to help make this happen for the fighters," Michael added.
The groups own Charlie Walker, who recently won a fight last month, will also getting back in action on November 19 at Gateshead's The Fed - with the fight available to view on pay per view.
