Carlisle United fans gave us their views on Twitter after the frustrating 1-1 draw with Sutton United.
Here is a selection of their comments.
A poor game for the Blues, so many misplaced passes from us coupled with a lack of energy, Sutton sharper to second ball first half, and kings of time wasting second. A formation switch was called for earlier as we were outnumbered in midfield, big improvement for Barrow please (@matty017)
Felt a bit flat today, the crowd was down 800 (1pm KO and the World Cup obviously having a negative effect plus two games in a row)...could have done with some sort of special offer to boost crowd. Carlisle had five-ten minute spells of good play but not consistent throughout the game (@CumbrianGeoff)
United were unusually flat, lacking energy and drive to grab the three points. Clearly, the team are in a dip but at least we aren't losing and the players are good enough to take us forward...let's just hope their form has returned for next week's game against Barrow (@BruceVander)
Tired, slow, lethargic, lacklustre, one misplaced pass after another - can only put it down to a one-off and move on, hopefully we will see a different team next week. (@thegaffa)
Ponderous. Seemed to lack energy or at least the motivation to go for the win. Made a very poor team look quite good most of the time. The comments on the ref and Sutton time-wasting are all valid but we should have won easily despite that. Worrying for the rest of the season. (@NotInSeddon)
Well, expectations were dashed. They had too much of the play until we scored - it didn't worry me though, until the poor equaliser! Then the antics started plus another amateur ref turning too many blind eyes, more antics, time wasting and riot 2.0! Must do better. Up to 5th!! (@LindaNi121202)
Scrappy game, disjointed performance from Carlisle. We didn't have the nous to break Sutton down and we created little. Point gained at end of the day. (@RonnieSmith1964)
Poor game. Poor ref (again). We didn't get going. They came for a draw, and the time-wasting was terrible, yet it was allowed. Put it right next week lads. Must try harder. (@LEEROTHERHAM)
Poor. Frantic, wayward passes. Moxon was surprisingly poor today, but others were off it too. Glad that Devitt is back - he seemed to add some control at the end. Whether it was FA Cup result or the bug going round last week, the team needs to regroup before next weekend. (@EarnThtDanegeld)
Off it. No tempo. Allowed a poor side to get something from it. Another very weak set of officials. Sutton were time wasting from the off. The right back should’ve been booked for time-wasting in the 17th minute. That aside not good enough from us. (@parkinsonross)
Poor performance, but they need to bring the World Cup stoppage time to English football, it might lessen that level of time wasting. (@joeleigh95)
Flat as a pancake tbh, mind Sutton thought they’d won the cup when they came off, how sad...we move on, it’s a point better off (@keithelliott94)
Poor, one paced, lacking energy and inspiration. Felt Simmo got it wrong today, changes could have been made much earlier to try and provide some impetus. However he hasn’t got much wrong so i think we can forgive him. (@Halpinforpope)
Not the best of games but thought we did just about enough for three points. What a load of time wasting, lying down cheats and another weak, no-idea ref again. Barrow next week - can Simmo apply to league to send an experienced strong ref? He just didn't have a clue (@ericgreen866)
Just a thought - the three London teams we’ve had up here this season - Orient, Wimbledon, Sutton - have all been nasty and niggly, making liberal use of the “dark arts.” (@j_michaelb)
Football is in the attention and entertainment business. Today provided neither. Matches like that kill the game. If it wasn’t Barrow next week the crowd would be down by another 800 IMHO. Is it the coaches fault or the players? (@Jholliday3)
An off day for all the players, simple passes going astray, can't say that one United player stood out today. Sutton were made to look a decent team. We need a much better performance against Barrow next week. (@peterjo91525330)
Time to freshen things up, Hilton, Devitt and Stretton to start next week with a 4-3-3 formation (@GeoffRo39583097)
I was STUpid expecting Carlisle to score five goals. Lovely squad and team each week that's very hard to beat. Need a 'clever' player added (eventually): Simmo is the clever player...second halves are better. Good few mins after half time. Salford away gave a vision of what could be... (@HOMESofFOOTBALL)
