Loan midfielder Sonny Hilton has left Carlisle United.
The Fulham player, who struggled for first-team action at Brunton Park, has returned to his parent club.
Hilton, 21, had been on a season-long loan with the Blues but that has now been cut short.
His departure could now open the door for further January additions at United, who yesterday brought in Middlesbrough loan defender Jack Robinson.
Hilton endured an injury-hit spell with United, making just ten appearances and failing to start a single league game.
Manager Paul Simpson, speaking on the club website, said: “After recent conversations between Fulham, Sonny, and us, it was agreed that it was in Sonny’s best interests for him to return to his parent club.
“Since returning from his ankle injury he hasn’t got the match minutes we would all have hoped for.
"I have enjoyed working with him as he’s a top guy, and I wish him well.”
