ALEX KEEN TO ADD

Crewe Alexandra expect to add to their squad this week – despite facing disappointment with some targets.

“We had a medical booked in on Saturday and planned to present the player to the fans before the AFC Wimbledon game, but for his own reasons the boy decided to go to another club,” said boss Lee Bell on the club website.

“But that’s gone now. I’m waiting on two calls today and I’m always hopeful and optimistic that we can get someone in before Saturday.”

“It was a difficult decision to make for me and my family,” Jay told Exeter’s website. “[But I have] a young boy now so I’ve been looking for some security with my partner and little one."

STRUGGLERS SECURE MIDFIELDER

Rochdale’s Danny Lloyd is remaining with the relegation battlers for the season.

The 31-year-old, who joined Jim Bentley’s side on a short-term deal last month, will now stay until May.

"He's a really good character. He's lively in the dressing room and the type of person we want around,” Bentley told the Dale website.

HARTLEY REJOINS POOLS

Experienced defender Peter Hartley believes he can enjoy successful times back at struggling Hartlepool after rejoining the north east club.

The 34-year-old has linked up with Keith Curle’s side after leaving Indian club Jamshedpur FC.

Upon returning to the club where he previously played from 2009-13, Hartley told the Monkey Hangers’ website: “'I’m not here for the comfort of home. I’m here to help this team progress. I’ve seen more then enough that we can get out of this situation.”

COBBLERS ACE BLASTS PITCH

Northampton Town defender Aaron McGowan slammed the state of Salford City’s pitch after the Cobblers’ 2-1 defeat.

"There's no excuse, both teams have played on it, but just looking at the pitch now, it's the worst pitch I've seen in professional football by far,” said McGowan, speaking in the Chronicle and Echo.

"It’s worse than you can imagine when you're actually on it. Your feet were going from underneath you.”

Former Celtic and Ayr man Doohan has been an ever-present for Micky Mellon’s Tranmere in the league this campaign.

EX-BLUES MAN FACES MAN UTD

Sonny Hilton was quickly back into action for Fulham after ending his Carlisle United loan early.
