The Hartlepool United player stretchered off at Brunton Park on Tuesday has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Defender Rollin Menayese was unable to finish the game after suffering an injury late in Pools' 3-1 defeat to Carlisle United.
Menayese hurt his ankle in a challenge from Blues substitute Joe Garner.
The 25-year-old, who is on loan from Walsall, is facing six months on the sidelines, Pools have confirmed.
It means he will miss the rest of the Monkey Hangers' survival fight in League Two.
Absolutely gutted to be out for the rest of the season, thank you to everyone associated with @Official_HUFC for my time the club, wish you all the best. Appreciate all the messages and support, long road to recovery but positive as always and will be back stronger. 🙏🏾💙

"Absolutely gutted to be out for the rest of the season," Menayese wrote on social media.
"Thank you to everyone associated with @Official_HUFC for my time the club, wish you all the best.
"Appreciate all the messages and support, long road to recovery but positive as always and will be back stronger."
Pools manager Keith Curle, speaking after Tuesday's game, had criticised Menayese for not releasing the ball earlier as Garner closed him down.
Carlisle boss Paul Simpson, in his post-match press conference, described the striker's challenge as a "fantastic recovery tackle", but sent his best wishes to Menayese.
