Carlisle United loan defender Max Kilsby helped in-form Annan Athletic chalk up another victory.

The young Blues player got his latest start as Peter Murphy’s side won 2-1 at Bonnyrigg Rose.

It was a 17th start of the campaign for the 19-year-old.

He played the full game as Tommy Goss's double earned a third straight victory for Murphy’s play-off chasers.

Kilsby, 19, picked up a yellow card during the game against Scottish League Two’s bottom side, as Annan remained third.

The teenager is on a season-long loan at Galabank, with Murphy’s side having won five of their last eight games.

United’s other two young pros out on loan both suffered defeat.

In Northern Premier League Premier Division, Sam Fishburn got his latest start for Morpeth Town.

But the young striker was unable to get on the scoresheet as the Highwaymen lost 1-0 at Ashton United.

Fishburn, 19, had an early effort blocked by the home defence before being replaced in the 54th minute, Kielen Adams’ goal earning the points for Ashton.

Morpeth now sit 19th in the table ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Whitby Town.

Blues winger Lewis Bell, meanwhile, was on the losing side as Gretna 2008 went down to Heart of Midlothian B.

Bell was in the starting line-up for Michael McIndoe’s side at Raydale Park.

But they suffered a 2-0 Lowland League defeat thanks to two first-half goals from Makenzie Kirk and Luke Rathie.

Gretna are 16th in the table, three places below Hearts B, and go to table-topping Rangers B tomorrow in a game played at Dumbarton.
