Carlisle United fans were in good spirits when they gave us their reaction to the Colchester win on Twitter after the game. Here is a selection...
Not pretty but a win's a win, and against a team with five away wins on the bounce was never going to be easy. Loved the rotation, need to keep it fresh and unpredictable. (@angelittle88)
United bounced back after the disappointment on Tuesday, a very important win and a gutsy display. Should have finished them off but CUFC always keep their fans in suspense. Clean sheets are important and a few more should see us promoted. (@peterjo91525330)
Crucial win today with a bonus from the Stevenage and Cobblers results. Mansfield now the team to watch out for. (@NotInSeddon)
I think Paul Simpson’s muted celebration at full-time told the story. The performance left a lot to be desired but today wasn’t about that. A huge result. Joe Garner led the line superbly and Jack Ellis put in a real shift after a six-week layoff. (@nathan_ridley_)
That's "what's it all about Alfie" - great goal. The whole team stepped up after Tuesday's poor performance. Massive three points gained, clean sheet. What's not to like? (@tracy_sturgess)
Won the battle against a good, horrible team who’ll win more than they lose before May. Holy, Feeney and Guy all superb. Mellish his bullish self. Still improvement to be made on the ball but off the ball we were excellent (@parkinsonross)
Solid if unspectacular performance. Well taken goal from McCalmont. With more composure we could've had more (Mellish and Dennis of all people missing chances). Went far too aerial second half and bypassed midfield. Gibson looked good when he came on. Their lads need proper shinpads (@JRBulman)
Colchester will have watched us on Tuesday and probably concluded that Holy never comes for crosses. Their main tactic today was to put high balls into our box but they were confounded by Holy suddenly becoming an expert at dealing with crosses. Should’ve been 3-0, obviously. (@KeithBloomfiel1)
Thought they were set up fairly well and table isn’t a true reflection of them today. We worked hard, earned a win and crowd appreciated it. Simmo is mint. Overwhelmed with the support for the CUOSC foodbank collection. A van full going on Monday. (@mspoonz)
We looked a bit more like our old selves today before it went a bit aerial...but they all dug in...an early unexpected goal from an unexpected quarter and that's what it was all about (Alfie) (@LindaNi121202)
Deserved victory. Made the form team look like never to score. In Simmo, we trust. (@LEEROTHERHAM)
We won a must-win! Job done, on to the next one! Up the Blues! (@fish_blues)
A rubbish watch. a superb win. (@1carlisle)
Hard-fought win, they came to kick it in the air and run and it made us do the same. But a win's a win (@PaulMar21281685)
I've just checked my watch and apparently it's PEEVE O'CLOCK (@krisfoster)
