Crawley Town boss Scott Lindsey has called on his team to “out-work” a Carlisle United side he admits are in the top three for a reason.
The struggling Red Devils are hoping to claim only a second win in ten games when the Blues visit tomorrow.
Lindsey admits second-bottom Crawley will have their work cut out against a visiting side and manager he admires.
“It will be a hard game, a really tough game,” said Lindsey.
“Paul Simpson’s a really good manager, someone I really respect. He’s put together a really strong squad there.
“They’re third in the table for a reason, very productive in the way they play.
“It’s going to be a tough game – like all games are.

“We’ve just got to make sure we’re prepared, understand what our jobs are, and we out-work them.”
Crawley have slipped into the bottom two but have a number of games in hand on their rivals in the relegation battle.
Former Swindon Town boss Lindsey is their third boss of the season with the Sussex outfit having earlier dispensed with Kevin Betsy and his successor Matt Etherington.
Crawley’s six wins this season have all come at home and the boss wants a hard-working performance to try and gain a seventh.
“The mood is good, training’s been bright. The positivity around the place is good but we’ve got to try and find a way of winning games,” he said in a club interview.
“It’s been difficult but we’ve got to put it right quickly.
“I’ve picked up on our running stats – we’ve ran less in the games we’ve lost. It’s clear – we’ve got to run hard, work hard, work harder than we’ve done.
“In the Salford game [their last victory] the stats were through the roof. We’ve got to get back to that and hopefully starting on Saturday we’re going to see an improvement on that.”
Lindsey could have Nick Tsaroulla – matchwinner when Crawley hosted United last season – back from injury.
But midfielder Teddy Jenks is out for the season and Ben Gladwin is a doubt.
