The results of the Warwick Road End's impressive makeover at Carlisle United's Brunton Park are on show - thanks to some dedicated teenage fans.

The young supporters have spent all week painting the Blues' home terrace.

They have made the Warwick a much more colourful place after painting barriers and walls a bright shade of Carlisle blue.

The fans gave up their half-term holiday to work on the terrace, and were backed by the club, fan groups and local businesses.

After five days of hard work, the improvements could not be clearer - with the old grey crush barriers painted blue, fresh coats of yellow paint applied to the supporting stanchions, and breezeblock walls also painted blue - ready for some new artwork which is in the planning.

Carlisle officials have praised the young fans for their initiative and dedication, with chief executive Nigel Clibbens describing their efforts as "simply brilliant" and manager Paul Simpson adding his praise.

Supporters will stand in the spruced-up terrace for the first time at next weekend's home game against Grimsby Town.

The young fans, posting via the warwickroadend social media accounts, said: "Our week down in the Warwick Road End has come to an end and what a great week it’s been with lots of improvements made.

"Improvements made are:
- Railings given a fresh, new coat of blue paint.
- Yellow support beams scraped down and painted over.
- Side breeze block walls painted over with blue (exciting news coming soon about those).
- @kyledoug2109 tried on Olga’s head.

"It’s been a great week thanks to everyone at the club, with Simon [Clarkson] the Supporter Liaison Officer helping organise the project.

"Thanks for reading and we all hope to see you in the WRE for the Grimsby game next week."
