Paul Simpson is urging Carlisle United’s fans to make it a feel-good day – on all sides of Brunton Park.
The Blues can clinch a play-off place at least by beating rivals Salford City today (Brunton Park, 3pm).
And manager Simpson wants another bumper Brunton crowd to help his side make the difference.
Carlisle are heading towards a possible 10,000 attendance for the huge game, with the Waterworks End terrace again open to home fans.
With Salford not the biggest travellers in League Two, the Blues’ ground will be dominated by United supporters – and Simpson said: “We have to make it a factor, simple as that.
“I’m appealing to the fans and pleading with the fans, come and make it a really good atmosphere.
“I’ve said it in the past that the players have to lift the fans – let’s get the fans coming and lifting the players, make it a really good atmosphere like they have done for nearly every game we’ve played this season, home and away.
“This is another great opportunity for us. We can make it a real good day.
“The players want to go around with their families and thank the supporters at the end of the game and I want it to be a really strong, positive performance that keeps the supporters in at the end and we can both show our appreciation for each other.”
Carlisle know a win today would secure a top-seven finish – and, should Northampton Town and/or Stevenage slip up, would also keep their automatic promotion hopes alive going into the final day.
The second-placed Cobblers are at home to Bradford City with third-placed Stevenage at home to Grimsby Town, both high-fliers able to clinch promotion with wins.
Carlisle start the day fifth, four points outside the top three, and three ahead of Neil Wood’s sixth-placed visitors Salford.
Simpson - without the suspended JK Gordon today - added: “I can’t wait to see the Waterworks End open again. I think that’s brilliant when we see all four sides with Carlisle fans.
“It’s up to us to go and put on a performance that gets them up, shouting, encouraging and supporting.
“Hopefully we can make it a really good afternoon for ourselves.”
