New Carlisle United signing Alfie McCalmont has paid an emotional tribute to his boyhood club Leeds United.
The midfielder has left the Elland Road club permanently to join the Blues.
McCalmont says he is excited about his new "chapter" at Brunton Park, where he starred on loan last season.
And he says he leaves Leeds with memories he will always treasure.
In a social media post shortly after his two-year deal at Carlisle was announced, McCalmont spoke of how he had lived the dream with Leeds.
"After 16 years, my time has come to an end with @leedsunited," the Northern Ireland international wrote.
"I would like to thank all the players and staff who I have worked with over the years for making me into a better player and also a better person.
"The memories we created will last a life time!
"My dream since I was eight years old starting out at the club was to be able to walk out onto the pitch at Elland Road in front of a full house.
"To be able to fulfill that dream means the world to me. I wish the club and the amazing supporters of Leeds United nothing but the best and huge success for the future.
"It’s time for the next chapter in my career which I am looking forward to!"
McCalmont has returned to Carlisle after a positive half-season loan with Paul Simpson's side last term.
The 23-year-old made 19 appearances for the Blues, including the play-off final victory over Stockport County at Wembley.
He previously enjoyed loan spells at Oldham Athletic and Morecambe, the latter in League One.
McCalmont became Carlisle's second summer signing shortly after another ex-loanee, Jack Robinson, also signed a two-year deal.
