Cumbrian keeper James Trafford kept his FIFTH straight clean sheet as England’s Under-21s reached the European Championships final.
Trafford helped keep Israel at bay as the young Lions won 3-0 in Wednesday night’s semi-final.
It extended his remarkable run to seven hours and 30 minutes without conceding in the tournament in Romania and Georgia.
The 20-year-old from Greysouthen has helped England reach their first final in the tournament since 2009.
And he now has the chance to become a European champion, with England targeting victory in Saturday's final which would see them tournament winners for the first time since 1984.
Trafford – whose fellow Cumbrian Jarrad Branthwaite was an unused substitute against Israel – has seen his reputation grow during a highly impressive tournament.
The former Carlisle United academy keeper was seldom extended against Israel as goals from Morgan Gibbs-White, Cole Palmer and Cameron Archer saw Lee Carsley’s side dominant.
But the Manchester City man – who is reportedly close to a £19m move to Burnley – did pull off one impressive late save from Anan Khalaili as England remained on top.
They will face either Spain or Ukraine in the final with those sides meeting in their semi-final later on Thursday night.
