A former Carlisle United loan striker has failed to win a deal with one of their League One rivals.
Forward Brad Young has been on trial at Exeter City in pre-season.
The former Aston Villa man featured for the Grecians in a friendly against Tiverton Town.
But he and some other trialists have since been released by Exeter boss Gary Caldwell.
“They have left the club,” said Caldwell, speaking in a club interview.
“We thanked them for the efforts, I thought they were outstanding with effort and application while they were here, but they have left the club now."
Young left Villa this summer, having been on loan at Ayr United last season.
He was with United for the first half of the 2021/22 season in a loan spell under Chris Beech and Keith Millen which brought 20 appearances and three goals.
The 20-year-old had previously impressed in Villa's youth side.
