Dean Henderson's multi-million pound summer move looks to be back on after a transfer breakthrough at Manchester United.
The Red Devils have reportedly sealed a deal that will see Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana sign for the club.
And that looks likely to trigger Henderson's move away from Old Trafford to Nottingham Forest.
Reports today suggested Man Utd were now close to agreeing a fee and personal terms for Cameroon international Onana.
That followed a spell where the move looked to be in the balance amid suggestions the 26-year-old Cumbrian could remain at the club for the start of the season.
The Athletic claim Man Utd now hope Onana will be able to join them for this week's pre-season trip to the USA.
The domino effect of the move is likely to see Whitehaven star Henderson clinch a permanent move away from the club, with outlets including TalkSport now reporting this as the likely outcome.
Forest, where he spent last season on loan, have long been the leading contenders for his signature.
And a deal in the region of £30m has been mentioned for the Cumbrian player.
That would trigger a sell-on benefit to Carlisle United under the terms of England international Henderson's move from the Blues' academy to Man Utd back in 2011.
Carlisle chief executive Nigel Clibbens, though, recently poured cold water on the idea of the Brunton Park club receiving a massive windfall.
He said such proceeds would not be "transformational" and would also be offset by some of the revenue Carlisle have already earned from Henderson playing first-team games at Man Utd.
