Carlisle-born Premier League prospect Joe White will get his chance to shine for Newcastle United in the USA.
The midfielder has been named in the Magpies' squad for the Summer Series.
White and his team-mates are flying to America today for the pre-season tournament which runs from July 22-30.
The 20-year-old's involvement means he will not face his home-city club this weekend when Newcastle's Under-21s face Carlisle United in a pre-season friendly at Gateshead.
White remains part of Eddie Howe's first-team numbers at Newcastle with the promising midfielder getting his latest pre-season outing in their victory at Rangers on Tuesday night.
He came off the bench just after the hour mark during Newcastle's 2-1 win at Ibrox, having enjoyed a similar outing for Howe's side against Gateshead on Saturday.
White, who had a loan spell at Exeter City last season following a previous loan move to Hartlepool United the previous campaign, is joined by former Carlisle keeper Mark Gillespie in the Newcastle squad on the USA trip.
First-team stars such as new signing Sandro Tonali plus Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff are among the travelling party.
Newcastle take on Aston Villa on Sunday in Philadelphia before further games against Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion.
