Fin Back has returned to Carlisle United.
The Nottingham Forest defender has rejoined the Blues for a second season on loan.
Back sealed his return to Brunton Park today as he links up with Paul Simpson’s squad ahead of the new League One season.
The 20-year-old becomes their seventh summer signing with 12 days to go until the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
Simpson had targeted a return for Back at an early stage this summer after his positive impact on the team last term.
And the right-sided player now returns ahead of United’s remaining two pre-season friendlies, at Chorley on Tuesday night and at home to Dundee United on Saturday.
Back made 19 appearances for the Cumbrians in their League Two promotion season and impressed with his all-action displays in the right wing-back position.
His campaign was interrupted by a hamstring injury at Salford City in November and then a similar problem on his comeback game at Leyton Orient in April.
Back, though, has made a successful return from the latter and has been involved in plenty of pre-season work at his Premier League parent club.
Back will compete with Jack Ellis for the wing-back position as United step up to the third tier.
He is the fourth of last season's loan players to return to Brunton Park, with Ben Barclay, Jack Robinson and Alfie McCalmont having rejoined on permanent deals this summer.
