Pressley, previously on Aston Villa's youth books, has been with Brentford since 2020 and has enjoyed loan spells with AFC Wimbledon and Accrington Stanley in League One.
Pressley senior has also worked with his son at Brentford in his role as head of individual development at the Premier League club.
Carlisle will come up against Aaron Pressley when they take on Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium on September 9.
Steven Pressley was United's manager from January 2019 to November 2019.
Pressley junior is not the only son of an ex-Carlisle manager making his way in the game.
Calum Kavanagh, son of Graham, is a striker on Middlesbrough's books and has had loan spells at Harrogate Town and Newport County.
John Sheridan's son Jay has played for Oldham Athletic and Chesterfield.
Paul Simpson's sons Joe and Jake are also in the professional game, Joe as a match official and Jake as head of performance at Stockport County.
