CUOSC will continue to refrain from commenting on speculation despite the growing rumours surrounding the future of the club.
The Blues have been looking to attract new investment for some time and, thanks to last season’s success, is in its best position for many years to do so.
But we have learned from the past that when it comes to dealing with interest in the club nothing is straightforward.
We can assure members that if, and when, there is something concrete to report we will let them know.
CUOSC has two representatives on the club’s boards and a stake-holding in the club.
Any new investment deal would need our support and, in turn, that means would need approval from our members.
We have a good relationship with the club and will continue to work alongside them to look after the long term future of the club.
This is a great time to be a member of CUOSC. Our numbers are growing as we continue to target the 1,000 mark and if you haven’t joined up already we would urge you to consider doing so.
You can sign up via our website at: www.cuosc.org.uk. It costs £10 for an adult for one year and £5 for seniors and under-18s.
CUOSC wholeheartedly supports boss Paul Simpson’s appeal for everyone to stick together as the Blues come to terms with life in League One.
The fans played a major role in helping the Blues achieve promotion last season. They now need to be at the forefront again. That’s why it was good to see a positive response from fans and supporters’ groups to the club’s efforts to curb the disruptive and illegal behaviour in the Warwick Road End.
Following an urgent meeting with supporters groups United announced some new measures including more stewards, stricter searching and increased use of body and surveillance cameras.
There appeared to be no problems on Tuesday night against Wigan when Brunton Park was bouncing again to another big atmosphere.
The team did themselves proud with a rousing second half comeback to earn a point against a very good footballing side.
If that is the standard of games fans have to look forward to this season we are all in for a treat.
We have still to decide on a date for our next CUOSC Annual General Meeting. It is normally held in July but the plan is to align it better with the results from our financial year. It is likely to be held in December this year.
