Carlisle United boss Paul Simpson says the Blues are hoping to BUY another striker.

The United manager has brought in Fulham loanee Terry Ablade today.

But Simpson has stressed that the Cumbrians' attacking recruitment may not yet be over.

“This is one is done but there’s room for one more," he told the club's website.

“There are a lot of things going on in the background - we’re going to be making on offer for a striker who we will be buying, if it comes off.

"But we have to wait and see with all of these things.

“As we know, it's rarely smooth, and it can be slow in how they work, but hopefully we’ll be able to make something happen before the window closes.”

Simpson, speaking at the weekend, said he was keen to add pace and a target man to his strikeforce.

Fulham's Ablade, the manager says, has "pace to burn" with the 21-year-old earmarked for an outing in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Wednesday.

“He’ll train today, we’ll get him involved in the reserve game we have tomorrow, with a view that ideally he’ll be involved in some way with us at the weekend," Simpson added.
