Carlisle United fans gave us their verdict on Twitter and Facebook after the 1-0 defeat at Port Vale. Here is a selection of their views.
Just repeat your match reports for pretty much all of the other games this season. Competed, and didn't necessarily look out of play, but absolutely toothless upfront. Unless we can find or sign a solution up top, we're going to struggle. (@RyCUFC)
Tough one today. Other than a Mellish brain explosion gifting them a goal we competed really well, created openings, even had two shots on target. Things must change soon. Maguire and Plange partnership showed promise (@MartinCrellin1)
We got the ball into good areas, and forced their keeper into making more saves than ours made, but we need to start taking chances. (@cufcmike)
Not outplayed, again, but not good enough in key moments. We started the game like we didn’t think we could win it and never looked like getting anything after their goal. Confidence is draining away quickly. (@lewisrids3)
I've said it a few times this season, we are basically fielding the same team as last season in L2. The players who have been brought in aren't up to scratch, we've tried a few attacking permutations, none are working. Can't see where 3 pts are coming from. Very worrying (@PaulLighty24910)
Same crack week in week out, absolutely crying out for 2 strikers, if they dont get 1 in soon could be a long season (@cmackay414)
Played ok, but their goal was sloppy. I actually thought we looked better going forward. Put a number of good balls into the box but not enough players gambling, although Maguire has to score with his header. Ultimately, we have to be better in both boxes. (@BenJoseph0157)
Let’s not talk about the centre forward we don’t have, let’s talk about the players we have who were in a position to shoot time and again in the last 20 minutes but instead played one pass too many and gave the ball away. (@JHallHDI)
Need to cut out the Subbuteo stuff when we get around the 18yd box. (@krisfoster)
Other than a silly silly mistake it would have been 0-0 (harsh for Holy to be dropped) we did ok and competed well for the bulk of the game, stick with the same team and I'm sure the goals will come. (@cufccraig1983)
Keeper incident aside, we don’t look very confident. Imposter syndrome? (@Kayleighhello)
Should have won this one. Had good spells on top but lacked a final cutting edge, as we have all season. Too many mistakes and giveaways as well. A strange lack of attacking ambition in that final 15+ minutes. Adding a strong holding striker is essential.(@NotInSeddon)
Played well with some good football in the midfield. Nothing between the 2 teams apart from the mistake (@spendercufc)
Simmo made a mistake changing the keeper in IMO. We need to play more direct, this tip tapping sideways and backwards will not win us many games. Also require a player with pace to run at defences. (@peterjo9152530)
Get holy back between the sticks and get a goal scorer in before Saturday. We basically did everything except score (@beetler43)
Seemed reluctant to chase the game at the death. Mind, we could've played till midnight without scoring. Going to be a long 9 months. (@buzzisbackCUFC)
I've been positive until now, but we're in trouble!! (@DavidJav9954)
Mistake goal defeat repeat (@hatkinson5527)
Win or lose, it's a team game. No scapegoats. (@RonnieSmith1964)
The bottom line is we haven't remotely come close to adequately replacing Dennis, Patrick or Feeney. Until we do...we're off back to League Two next season. All of the forwards we've signed look National League standard sadly. (@RegReagan2)
Don't mind Simmo protecting his keeper but....it was his mistake to drop Holy & Andresson's mistake to concede the pen. If we'd have taken the lead, we'd have won that game. But we never looked like taking the lead. Something in that "win" column will make all the difference. (@1StevieKilner)
Awful, seems like our players just wait for each other to do something. No heart or desire (@ftblwirtz)
Same old issues. No threat at all up front (@frostie_)
