Cumbrian Premier League prospect Joe White is being linked with a third loan move in his young career.
The Newcastle United midfielder has been tipped to join League Two club Crewe Alexandra.
It would see White return to the fourth tier in a temporary move having already had spells in League One, with Exeter City, and in League Two with Hartlepool United.
The 20-year-old from Carlisle has been around the first-team squad at St James' Park and was in Eddie Howe's senior ranks for their pre-season trip to the USA.
A move to give the midfielder further first-team experience now appears to be on the cards ahead of Friday's 11pm transfer deadline.
The72 report that a switch to Lee Bell's Crewe is now likely for a young player who was with Carlisle's academy before moving to Newcastle seven years ago.
White made 16 appearances for Exeter in a half-season loan last term, including six starts.
Previously he played 16 times for Hartlepool in a similar loan in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign.
He has also been a regular in Newcastle's Under-21 side in Premier League 2 and in the EFL Trophy.
Should White join Crewe, he will link up with a side who sit 14th in League Two after five games.
