Kai Nugent made his full Annan Athletic debut but ended up on the losing side in the cup.
The Carlisle United loan teenager went into Peter Murphy’s side for their SPFL Trust Trophy home tie against Peterhead.
Nugent was joined in the side by fellow Blues loanee Max Kilsby.
The attacking midfielder, 18, earned plaudits for his display, with Nugent being named man of the match for the hosts.
Congratulations to Kai Nugent who was today’s man of the match.

But it otherwise proved a disappointing afternoon at Galabank as Annan lost 2-0 to go out of the competition.
The League Two visitors struck in either half through Andrew McCarthy and Kieran Shanks.
Nugent played the first 82 minutes before being replaced by former Blues midfielder Josh Dixon, while 19-year-old defender Kilsby chalked up another 90 minutes on the seventh outing of his latest loan.
The next chance for the two young Blues prospects to impress will come next Saturday when Annan host Stirling Albion in League One.
A number of ex-Carlisle players were in the thick of the weekend action, meanwhile.
In League Two, a late Alex Gilliead goal rescued a point as Bradford City drew 1-1 with Grimsby Town in their televised contest at Valley Parade.
Also in the fourth tier, there was a two-goal haul for Adam Campbell as Crawley Town thrashed Newport County 4-1 in Sussex.
Michael Kelly was in the MK Dons squad for the first time as a substitute in their 1-1 draw against Notts County, following his move to the club on a short-term deal.
Newcastle United’s Carlisle-born loanee Joe White, meanwhile, made another substitute appearance for Crewe Alexandra as they won 4-1 at Forest Green Rovers.
In non-league, meanwhile, Canice Carroll was among the scorers as Oxford City thrashed Hartlepool United 5-2 in the National League.
A late red card for Micah Obiero, for two bookable offences, featured in Wealdstone’s 2-1 home win over Ebbsfleet United.
In National League North, Richie Bennett got Scunthorpe United’s consolation goal in their 2-1 home defeat to ten-man Buxton, who had Connor Brown sent off.
In NPL Premier, Workington Reds’ entertaining 5-3 home win against Basford United included two goals from David Symington.
The same division saw a strike from Liam Noble in Morpeth Town’s 2-0 victory over Gainsborough Trinity.
North of the border, Gavin Reilly was on target in Queen of the South’s 3-2 win at Partick Thistle in the SPFL Trust Trophy.
On Friday in the same competition, Brad Young struck for Welsh club The New Saints as they won 3-0 at Hibernian B.
