Former Carlisle United man Brad Potts has signed a new long-term deal in the Championship.
He has extended his stay at table-topping Preston North End for another three years.
Potts has been at Deepdale since 2019 and has been a key played for the Lilywhites.
The 29-year-old, who started out in the professional game at Carlisle, said of his new deal: “Obviously coming into the last year of your contract can be quite a difficult time if you want to get some security so I was over the moon to get it done.
“I love it here and I’ve never wanted to leave.

We're delighted to announce @bradpotts17 has signed a new contract which will keep him at Deepdale until at least 2026. 🤍#pnefc
“I feel like I’m probably playing more with a smile on my face than I ever have.
“I want to stay here for as long as I can and that’s why I signed the contract.”
Potts, at wing-back, has helped Ryan Lowe's Preston make an impressive unbeaten start to the 2023/24 second-tier season, and they sit top of the table after six games, with five wins and a draw.
Lowe, speaking on Preston's website, added: "I’m really pleased Pottsy’s going to be with us for the long haul. He’s well worthy of this new deal.
“Ever since I came through the door he’s been fantastic and he’s really made that right wing back position his own."
Potts first made his mark as a youth team player at Brunton Park before going on to make 118 first-team appearances for the Blues, scoring ten goals.
He joined Blackpool in 2015 and also had a spell at Barnsley before his move to Preston in the January 2019 transfer window.
The Hexham-born player has made 178 appearances so far for Preston.
