Carlisle United fans were jubilant after the 3-1 win at Bolton Wanderers - here's a selection of the comments they gave us on X after the game.

Fantastic team performance. Worked hard but played with no little style either. Thoroughly deserved victory. (@BenJoseph0157)

To a man brilliant. From the safe hands of Holy to the finishing of Gibson we were brilliant today. There’s been elements of that performance in most games this season but today it all came together (@mattselliott)

Best Carlisle performance for a long time. Couldn't fault anyone. Sam Lavelle is getting better every game. Midfield were very solid, Joe Garner did a fantastic job up front, Jordan Gibson absolutely unbelievable. Let's hope this is the kick-start for the rest of the season. (@PaulLighty24910)

An absolutely all round outstanding performance. Every player did their job and some. We should fear no one after today's game. Keep going Blues, and who knows where it could end (@tracy_sturgess)

Best performance of the season by a mile, with a contribution from every player. We created a lot of good chances from open play, which is something that we've not managed to do this season. Looked solid in defence with a back 4. UTB! (@BlueArmyBlog)

Not sure Simmo would have chosen that formation if it hadn't been for Hunts injury, but it's working for us. Last season McCalmont and Gibson were trying to occupy the same space on the pitch. Now they are both playing their part. (@JHallHDI)

Magnificent! Rolled with the punches of an own goal, a penalty miss and a one on one miss. Defended superbly and hit them on the counter when it mattered. Take a bow Jordan and all the rest. Supported by a delirious fruit salad and blue army! UTB! (@Snakeyes7475)

Magnificent performance from the entire team and a welcome win.  For once a decent referee performance. Simmo got everything right including having Holy back in the starting eleven. (@peterjo91525330)

Fantastic result. Really happy for Gibson, he's been like a new signing this season. Toughsheet for Bolton fans (@mikebcarlisle)

So what can you say? 1. Never say die after early set back. 2. Never say die after second set back. 3. Proper reffin at last. 4. Proper following by the 4407. 5. Proper well deserved victory, to a man fab plus a Gibson hat trick. 6. Had to come. Keep the Faith (@LindaNi121202)

Excellent Excellent Excellent. That is why we support our team for days like today. What joy was had at the Toughsheet Stadium (@MartinCrellin1)

Maybe found a new formation. Garner played very well (apart from his penalty), Guy and Lavelle looking like key players and Gibson having a week to remember. I was in the Bolton end and they just expected to turn up and win, doesn’t work like that against a Simmo team. (@andrewhoddie)

Up there with the best that one, cracking away day! Lavelle was outstanding considering booked v early, Garner/Maguire were excellent although both should have scored… Gibson magnificent (@Jonnyreay)

Best we've played all season, Mellish was so unlucky with own goal and you say, 'Oh not again' Tnen at last we get a penalty and Joe passes back to keeper - then low and behold, jsut like buses, two come along. Then the Jordan Gibson show begins. Well done Blues. (@ericgreen866)

Bolton thought easy game, but Blues up for it - brilliant game, up the Blues (@Johnnunn11)

Unbelievable. We are massive (@JoshYoungFarmer)

What a performance. Absolutely outstanding against one of the best sides in the division. 4 points in a difficult week! (@mark_rothery)

It’s just class seeing Bolton cry, they’ve spent jags on players and see us as a bad team. We made it look like we were up there and they’re the team scrapping the bottom. Peeve x (@JoshBrough94)

EPIC. Full stop. (@FeelingHoly)

Massive!! We are massive!!! (@RannonWalker)

Outstanding, brilliant to be there with the mighty Blues (@richieklik1409)

Superb. Every. Single. Player. (@RonnieSmith1964)

What a great win infront of a big crowd. That was special that (@tommo0169)

In Simmo we trust (@fish_blues)

One word - brilliant (@GeoffRo39583097)
