Jayden Harris has been urged to make the most of his loan move away from Carlisle United.
The midfielder could make his Eastleigh debut this weekend after joining the National League club on a three-month loan.
Harris, in the second year of his three-year Blues deal, has again been short of first-team action this season.
Assistant manager Gavin Skelton feels his temporary switch to the Spitfires could be just what the 24-year-old needs.
“I’m pleased for Jayden, I think it’s good all round,” said Skelton of the midfielder’s move.
“It’s obviously been frustrating for him.
"So hopefully he goes and gets minutes and comes back in a really positive, confident way, from getting game time and confidence at a good club.”
Harris will be in the frame to feature for Richard Hill’s side against York City at home this weekend.
He has linked up with the Hampshire outfit until the middle of January, having made just four first-team outings for the Cumbrians this season.
Since his move to Brunton Park in the summer of 2022, Harris has made nine starts in all competitions and 19 substitute appearances, scoring once.
It has not yet been confirmed by the Blues whether Harris will be eligible to play for Eastleigh in the FA Cup.
They take on Boreham Wood in next month’s first round, with United going to Leyton Orient on the same weekend.
Hill’s team sit 11th in the National League after 15 games.
Harris’s new team-mates at the Silverlake Stadium will include the former Barrow and Rochdale frontman Scott Quigley, ex-Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Chris Maguire and former Crawley Town, Notts County and Sutton United star Enzio Boldewijn.
Blues boss Paul Simpson said: “An opportunity came up for Jayden to go out and get some first-team football and I think it will be a move which will benefit all parties."
