Carlisle United's supporters' trust are inviting fans to put themselves forward for board positions.

CUOSC will hold their annual general meeting in December.

And they are asking for expressions of interest in four board seats which will be up for voting at the AGM.

One of the positions was vacated last year when former chairman Frank Beattie stepped down.

Malcolm Nugent, the trust's press officer, is also set to step down.

Two other long-serving board members, Nigel Davidson and Carol Wilson, see their latest three-year terms up. It has not yet been confirmed that they will stand again.

The board positions are up for grabs at a time of potential major change at both United and the trust.

CUOSC recently voted to reduce its voting shareholding in United's Holding company from 25.4 per cent to ten per cent in the proposed takeover by the Piatak family.

The trust, though, is set to retain its board seats with the Blues under the Americans' ownership.

CUOSC also believes it can retain a strong influence despite the reduction in its stake.

The trust have played a key part in the courting of the Florida family while 98 per cent of its members voted in favour of the Piatak deal at a members' meeting last month.

CUOSC has also seen its membership increase significantly in recent times, with numbers having more than doubled in the space of two years.

There are now more than 1,100 members.

In a statement on social media, CUOSC said: "We would like to invite expressions of interest in standing for our board.

"There will be four seats up for vote at the AGM.

The AGM is scheduled for Sunday, December 3 with venue to be confirmed.
