It was a losing weekend for Carlisle United’s loan players on both sides of the border.
Jayden Harris made his second start for Eastleigh in their National League trip to Maidenhead United.
But the midfielder was substituted as early as the 25th minute with the visitors already 2-0 down.
"I could have changed all 11," said boss Richard Hill in a post-match club interview, having also made a second switch in the first half.
The hosts went on to win 3-2 leaving Harris’s club 11th in the table.
There was also defeat for Max Kilsby and Kai Nugent, who both started in Annan Athletic’s trip to Edinburgh City.
Defender Kilsby made his 11th league start of the season while midfielder Nugent was called up by manager Peter Murphy for a defensive role in his second league start.
Kilsby played the full game while Nugent was substituted on 52 minutes as the Galabankies went down to a 3-2 defeat despite goals from Tommy Goss and Dominic Docherty.
The fourth straight league defeat leaves Annan still ninth in Scottish League One.
There was no game, meanwhile, for Josh O’Brien with Workington Reds not in action over the weekend.
A number of former Carlisle men were in the thick of the weekend action, meanwhile.
League Two saw Andy Cook score for Bradford City – but it was a consolation goal in their 2-1 defeat at a Sutton United side for whom Omari Patrick was an unused substitute.
Ex-Blues boss Keith Millen suffered a second defeat in his third game in interim charge at Gillingham as Omar Bogle’s double gave Newport County a 2-0 win at Priestfield.
The game was tarnished by a home fan making racist gestures to the Newport goalscorer, Gillingham later confirming an individual had been arrested.
Earlier, Millen had successfully appealed a Football Association misconduct charge over a touchline incident in the Gills’ recent defeat at Walsall.
In the National League, caretaker boss Chris Beech enjoyed a 4-0 victory with AFC Fylde as they thrashed Gateshead in the north east.
Also in non-league’s top tier, Jack Bridge converted a penalty in Southend United’s 1-1 draw at Boreham Wood.
In National League North, Martin Smith was on the scoresheet for South Shields in their 1-1 draw at Brackley Town.
Max Hunt got two goals for Buxton in a 2-2 draw with Rushall Olympic.
💪🏼 Magic Max.

In Northern League Division One, a 6-0 home defeat for Darren Edmondson's Penrith at the hands of Bishop Auckland featured a goal by ex-Carlisle youth player Charlie Watt.
In the Premier League, meanwhile, former Blues trialist Philip Billing struck the winner for Bournemouth, beating Burnley’s James Trafford from distance in the Cherries’ 2-1 win.
The following day Jarrad Branthwaite turned in a man of the match performance to help Everton win 1-0 at West Ham United.
In the Championship, Bristol City's 2-0 defeat at Cardiff City spelled the end for manager Nigel Pearson, who was sacked on Sunday.
North of the border, Jamie Armstrong and Lewis Bell were both on target for Gretna 2008 in their 5-1 win over Newton Stewart in the Potts Cup.
And in the Scottish Cup second round, Kallum Higginbotham scored in Tranent's 7-0 win over East Kilbride.
