Carlisle United fans gave us their views on social media platform X after the FA Cup defeat at Leyton Orient - here's a selection of their comments:
Simmo will need all his experience and wiles to keep us up, but I am sure he is the man for the job. The present group of players will have to man up and stop making stupid mistakes and start hitting the target. (@peterjo91525330)
Keeper & striker required January. Looked far better with Mellish in midfield, Whelan did well, Robinson too. Couldn't understand taking Gibson off. We never won a 2nd ball once. Only team that were gonna win when we equalised but we stopped playing. (@FeelingHoly)
Considering McGeouch hasn’t played for 2 months he had a good game. Will need him to perform now with Guy most likely out for a while. Sill errors letting us down today and that’s been the story of the season (@IvanNewsome23)
Last two games have shown up some worrying tendencies. Where we've previously been competitive in most games, we are starting to look like a side that knows it's lacking in quality at this level and confidence levels are sinking fast (@Galaspookysplit)
We’ve conceded first in 17 of our 20 games this season. That’s why we’re in so much trouble. We need a minimum of a goalkeeper, a left back and a goalscorer. Paul Simpson is still the man for the job. (@ostrichtowers0)
Shocking as per usual. Mass clear out needed in January. A lot of players who aren't fit to wear the shirt (@tommo0169)
I do not know what to say. Feeling quite depressed after that. Guy injury not looking good. The difference in the end was their keeper came off his line for crosses, ours did not. Not sure if this is a positive but our train to and from London actually turned up (@MartinCrellin1)
To stop conceding first has to be a priority. We need Huntington back asap...his talking is a big part of a tight back 4. We desperately need some height up front, Joe can't do it all. The old injury curse is alive and well...Guy could be out for some time (@LindaNi121202)
Have to agree with others who believe that we have 6 or 7 decent players at Lge 1 level. That is not enough. Simmo revitalised the team at half-time, but as was the case, first-half, it couldn't be sustained, and errors cost us dear. Time to dig deep, and work hard. (@BruceVander)
Could do without more games with this current squad, long arduous watch till January. (@Chris_CA2)
We weren’t actually that bad today, we’re miles off League 1 level though. (@JakeHCass)
We would have got Harrogate second round had we progressed :) (@MattGoodsman)
Can I have go up front next week? (@Halli1904)
Best manager in League 1 by a country mile - we need to stick with him like he has stuck with us! Regardless of how this season goes - he will lead us to pastures new when we can have the depth of squad any club needs (@Paulwal93886844)
