We shared the news that Carlisle United's supporters' trust has condemned the abuse aimed at the team and staff after the defeat at Blackpool.

CUOSC have also thrown their weight behind Paul Simpson a day after the manager claimed he had himself been targeted.

Here's how readers reacted.

Paul Taylor said: "Paul Simpson is the best thing to happen to United since Ashman and Stokoe. Stick with him and the team. He only deserves our fullest support. He is a winner and will make us winners in the long term."

Vincent Parker said: "If we don't get behind the team and manager we stand a chance of losing him. Others have seen how good he is on a small budget. And would tempt him away if we don't get behind him. If he keeps us up he will have worked a miracle. Then with the new investment, we will see what he really can do."

Mike Rayson added: "He's done miracles on such a low budget."

Anthony Stevenson said: "Come on guys, let's get behind the team and let Paul Simpson get on with the rebuild. He’s performed miracles since he returned. We have some good players and we have investors who want to take the club forward. I know it’s bad at the moment but our best asset is Paul Simpson."

Ron Maddison commented: "Very important that this is stamped out quickly but just as important that it is not blown out of proportion."
