Dean Henderson has spoken of his delight at making his long-overdue Premier League debut for Crystal Palace.
The Cumbrian goalkeeper's outing against Manchester City was his first game in the top flight for 11 months.
It saw the Whitehaven star back in action after his early months at Palace were hit by a thigh injury.
After working his way back to fitness, Henderson came in for the sidelined Sam Johnstone as Palace fought back for a 2-2 draw against champions City.
The 26-year-old said he was thrilled to be back in action.
“I loved every minute of it, being back on the pitch. I think it’s nearly been a year since I last played [in the Premier League] so I’m delighted," Henderson said.
"It was an unbelievable result to come here and get a draw.”
Henderson made one Carabao Cup appearance for Palace after his summer move from Manchester United - but suffered injury on his debut against his former club.
He will now be hoping to kickstart his bid to claim the No1 position for the long term at Selhurst Park under Roy Hodgson, as well as reignite his England ambitions.
Speaking to Premier League Productions after Palace came from 2-0 down to earn a point at the Etihad Stadium, the ex-Carlisle United academy keeper said: "Obviously you’re busy against these guys [City].
"They’re a world-class team and you’ve just got to stay in the game as long as you can, and hopefully catch them on the break, which we did.
“We’re all pulling in the right direction and there’s a great team spirit here.
"Obviously we’ve got injuries, but everyone’s pulling together, filling holes, and we’ve young lads coming onto the bench and that. Everyone to a man was unbelievable today.
“It’s been emotional, but I’m delighted to be back.”
