Paul Simpson is set for talks with two of his Carlisle United players who are out on loan over their immediate futures.
Max Kilsby is set to come to the end of his half-season Annan Athletic spell this weekend.
And Jayden Harris’ temporary stint at Eastleigh will also be up later this month.
Blues manager Simpson plans to address both subjects in the period ahead.
Young defender Kilsby, in his second campaign with Annan, is set to face Montrose for Peter Murphy’s side in Scottish League One on Saturday.
Beyond that, though, a decision will need to be made on the 20-year-old.
“Max has got his last game this weekend – I have been in contact with Peter Murphy, and I keep speaking with Max as well,” said Simpson.
“Once the game’s out of the way we’ll have that conversation and make a decision where he’s going to be.
“It’s been a real good experience for him, he’s collecting match minutes playing at senior football level.
“There’s going to come a point where we need to get him back in so we’ll have that conversation over the next few days and make that final decision.”
Kilsby, who played a key part in Annan’s promotion last season, has again been a regular in Murphy’s defence, totting up 21 appearances so far this campaign.
Midfielder Harris, meanwhile, is preparing for a big weekend with National League club Eastleigh, who will aim to cause an FA Cup third round upset at League Two club Newport County on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has made 13 appearances and scored two goals for the Spitfires so far.
“Jayden’s loan finishes on January 20,” said Simpson.
“I’ve been in regular contact with Richard Hill, the manager at Eastleigh. He [Harris] has had games where he’s done very well, and he’s had games where he’s been taken off and not done so well.
“He got a goal again the other day [against Dagenham & Redbridge] and there have been some bits when I’ve watched his clips where he’s been doing really well.
“It’s been good for him. He’s into double figures for games for them.
“At the moment they’ve not made a final decision on what they want to do with him and until I know what other midfield players we can get in, we’ve just got to wait and see.
“It may be if we get other midfield players in and Jayden comes back, we may even look to get him out on loan to get some more games under his belt if we don’t feel as though he’s going to get them here.
“It’s a little bit up in the air with Jay at the moment but we’ll just see over the next week or two.”
United’s other players currently out on loan are Kai Nugent, who is at Annan for the full season, and Sam Hetherington, who is on a work experience loan at Workington Reds.
