Owen Moxon remains out in front as Carlisle United’s leading performer in the League One season so far.
That’s according to the number crunchers, who rank the midfielder above his team-mates after 28 games.
Denton Holme favourite Moxon is United’s highest-rated player by leading statistics site WhoScored.
He is ranked 41st in the entire division when a number of different data calculations are made.
The site gives Moxon an overall rating of 6.98 from his efforts in the third tier so far.
Moxon has scored three goals and made three assists in the league from his 25 appearances and 2,136 minutes so far.
According to WhoScored, he’s also clocked up a pass success percentage of 69.8 per cent and won 2.2 aerial duels per game.
Moxon executes 1.2 key passes per game, takes on 1.9 shots per game and attempts 40 passes per game, with 1.2 ‘key passes’ per game too.
You have to go much further down the League One list to find Carlisle’s second top performer according to WhoScored.
That is attacking midfielder and top scorer Jordan Gibson, who has an overall rating of 6.81, placing him 97th in the rundown of third tier players.
Third highest scorer for the Blues is defender Sam Lavelle, who is 122nd on 6.75.
Moxon’s ranking puts him ahead of League One stars such as Blackpool’s Karamoko Dembele, Reading’s Lewis Wing, Bolton Wanderers’ Dion Charles, Stevenage’s Jamie Reid, Northampton Town’s Sam Hoskins and Wigan Athletic’s Thelo Aasgaard.
Carlisle have long been attempting to secure Moxon’s future at the club with the offer of a new contract.
But manager Paul Simpson has said that, following a “positive” meeting with Moxon’s agent, the former Carlisle manager Graham Kavanagh, he had not received a further response to the terms United have tabled.
Derby County defender Eiran Cashin is the highest rated player in the division according to the data experts, followed by Stevenage defender Carl Piergianni and Derby County’s Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.
