Owen Moxon says he hopes he will get a good reception when he makes a quick return to Carlisle United next weekend.
The former Carlisle United midfielder, who joined Portsmouth on transfer deadline day, will be back at Brunton Park with his new club on February 10.
Moxon, in his first official interview with Pompey, spoke of his love for Carlisle and his hope that fans will give him a good welcome back.
“I’m looking forward to going back up and hopefully there will be a good reception, but we’ll have to wait and see!" Moxon said.
“I’ve got nothing but love for Carlisle. I grew up around there and it’s an amazing club with amazing people, but this was the right time for me to move on.”
The Denton Holme favourite has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Fratton Park after Portsmouth paid United an undisclosed fee.
Moxon says the south coast club "match his ambitions" and he wants to help John Mousinho's League One table-toppers reach the Championship.
“It’s been a crazy 24 hours and I’m absolutely buzzing to be here. It’s a long drive down, but well worth it," added the 26-year-old Cumbrian.
“Once I’d spoken with the manager it was a no-brainer and I just wanted to get here as soon as possible. I’m excited to get started.
“I had a great last season, getting to play at Wembley and winning promotion, but now I’m delighted to be here at a massive club.
"I want to be getting promoted and Pompey match the ambitions of where I want to be, so we’re looking to finish the season strongly.
“I’m looking to help this club get back to where it needs to be and that starts with getting into the Championship.
“I want to be getting promoted and Pompey match the ambitions of where I want to be, so we’re looking to finish the season strongly.
“This team is top of the league for a reason and I’ll be trying to add to that to get us over the line, while playing as many games as possible.
“I can’t wait to show the fans what I can do.”
