Jack Diamond has made a quick recovery from the knock that forced him off for Carlisle United on Saturday.
The Sunderland loanee was substituted early in the second half of the 1-0 defeat against Portsmouth.
But Diamond was in the squad for last night’s aborted trip to Burton Albion.
It means the 24-year-old winger has quickly overcome the issue and can now look forward to returning to the Cumbrians' side against Cambridge United on Saturday.
Diamond was with the travelling Blues party whose hopes of action at Burton were dashed by a late postponement last night.
“Yes, he was fit to play,” confirmed manager Paul Simpson.
“There was no problem at all.
“There wasn’t anybody from the weekend who wasn't fit for [the Burton game].
“There were going to be changes to the team. I've got to make a decision now that we'll start focusing on Cambridge, and see whether it's the same team.”
Carlisle were one of four teams denied action in League One last night.
As well as their game at Burton, Port Vale’s home clash with Peterborough United also fell foul of the conditions.
The Blues could seek the positives of being fresher for their return to action. “They will – but there's also the disappointment of preparing for [a game] and it falling flat],” added Simpson.
“But we can't control it. We've just got to get ourselves back and get ourselves ready to go for the next one.”
