The first signs of a revamp of Carlisle United's youth set-up have emerged with the club advertising for a new head of academy recruitment.
The Blues are seeking someone to head up their talent identification and recruitment work in their youth department.
The new appointment will take a key role in United's Category 3 academy.
And it comes as United look to improve the overall work of their youth set-up.
At a time the Cumbrians are also seeking a new academy director, with Simon Friel set to leave, club bosses have spoken about the "opportunity" to take the youth department to the next level.
The head of academy recruitment, the club's advertisement says, will "manage the Talent ID and recruitment department in line with the club’s academy performance plan."
The successful applicant will be expected to manage and develop a recruitment strategy, manage and direct youth recruitment scouts at all age group levels, oversee scouting logs and a player database and recruit academy scouts.
United manager Paul Simpson said last year that he felt the club's academy needed a "shake-up" and was "not in a good state".
He said the recruitment in particular was an area that needed to be improved, saying that aspect had to be better at bringing in players with the potential to go on to become professionals.
Upon last month's announcement that Friel was set to leave as academy boss after two-and-a-half years, the Blues said further changes could help enhance the academy.
"Looking ahead, with plans being developed for new, improved facilities for the whole club, new ambitions and investment coming from the change of ownership, it's a great time for new ideas and drive to come into the academy," chief executive Nigel Clibbens said.
"It is a fantastic opportunity to build and shape the football development programme for the long-term."
