Carlisle United fans gave us their views on social media platform X after the 2-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers. Here is a selection of their comments.
8 in a row and counting, performance better but defensively we’ve made errors again, and lost another away lead , Hunts not in again (@keithelliott94)
Probably the best performance since the game with Northampton Town. Simpson has been given the money, he needs to be given the time. That means until May 2025 at least. (@ostrichtowers)
Played well, scored a good goal to back it up for once. They scored, made with a great piece of individual skill from Brown, then an air of inevitability set in… (@Snakeeyes7475)
Table doesn’t lie. 8 straight defeats. Got some good individuals in there but overall given results gotta be one of the worst squads in a few decades. 8 straight defeats is brutal. (@CameronEllis_)
Heads didn't drop when they scored for a change. Best opening 30 minutes of the season, played some lovely football. Still sloppy marking for their 1st, lost ball too easily for their 2nd. Butterworth should have been on sooner. (@FeelingHoly)
Better until they equalised. Then Groundhog Day all over again. (@MikeEwins)
Better but the writing is on the wall and preparations should be made now for life in League 2 Simmo still at the helm, changing manager is not an option IMO. I Hope lessons are being learned. (@peterjo91525330)
Looked like a team. Played football (not seen for a while) but still lost to 2 quality goals (@MartinCrellin1)
I certainly don't buy into the new narrative that somehow these players are preparing us for life in Lg2! (@Andythehood)
A decent fight by the sounds of it but The Pirates go home with the booty! .......Next! (@LindaNi121202)
1 win in 18, 8 straight defeats. If now isn't the right time for a change then when is? (@Gaz92Richardson)
Better performance, but the gap between Utd and Bristol Rovers is significant. Simmo needs to be strong. Tough decisions now will lay the foundations for next season. (@BruceVander)
Suggestion: gardening leave (or better still, scouting leave) for PS until end of season. Plenty of jobless bosses out there w/nothing to lose by coming here for a couple of months. New ideas, a bit of pride instilled & maybe a late rally. PS back recharged for next season. (@j_michaelb)
Can we ask why the club captain is on the bench again? (@jamie_2218)
Shambles. However you paint over it. It’s another shocking result. :( - forgettable season and a half sadly. (@whittylee)
I’m bored and tired of this season I’m done moaning (@cufcaidan)
Didn’t deserve that result today (@JonnyEdgar2)
Good start, then totally out of the game (@alantorchwood)
On a positive note, we are at last scoring goals. Long may it continue. (@navy484)
