Eleven years on from their inaugural parkrun, Carlisle Parkrun celebrated its 500th event last weekend.
On Saturday, February 24, runners from far and wide descended upon Chances Park in Carlisle at 9am for a memorable 5k.
In the spirit of giving back to our community, runners also generously brought along bags of groceries for the local foodbank.
On Facebook, Carlisle Parkrun wrote: "What a brilliant morning celebrating our 500th event! Morton Manor even let us back into the conservatory where we used to meet after every parkrun in the early days!
"A huge thank you to everyone who makes Carlisle parkrun the amazing community that it is - where everyone is welcomed and supported!
"Thank you to our amazing volunteers especially our core team and stalwarts who without you the event would not be possible! Here’s to the next 500!"
