Carlisle United fans gave us their views on social media platform X after the 1-0 win at Burton Albion - here is a selection of their comments.
Diamond’s best game so far. Ellis and Mellish excellent too. Word for Armstrong too. Runs himself into the ground every game. The saves and clean sheet will do Lewis’ confidence wonders. Nice to get the win and clean sheet. Hopefully this can be the start of something new. (@parkinsonross)
Grit, determination, passion and a united team. That's what we need. (@scholes_peter)
Quote of the night heard in the crowd: ‘There’s no god, but there is Paul Huntington’ (@NottsNomad)
A proper team performance. Everyone put a shift in and showed a lot of resilience tonight. Need to try and back it up Saturday, something which we have struggled with all season. (@BenJoseph0157)
Better!! More fight, much better defensively with Hunts back in! Diamond showed his potential tonight, was really lively! (@Jonnyreay)
Superb team effort marshalled by Hunts, Diamond sparkled with Armstrong putting in a centre forward shift (@hatkinson5527)
Great team effort and a deserved win. Burton's tactics made it a scrappy game but everyone was up for it. Pleased for Lewis who showed why he is our no.1 with some crucial saves and Ellis who showed more attacking flair than we’ve seen previously. I bet Hunts loved that battle (@tim_martland)
Lots praising the fight and spirit tonight but I actually saw several shades of good football after the first twenty! (Once we put people in positions to receive the ball). Something to build on with this group. Get them holding and playing the ball better before next season. (@SimonRFoster)
Deserved win! Very good batting performance. Whatever happens let’s finish the season with some fight. There’s a lot to be positive about off the pitch so finishing with momentum is huge. So happy to get that win & clean sheet! (@fish_blues)
United turned up and put in a fighting performance at Burton which was nice to see again. Still a miracle is needed if we are to remain in L1. The team must play the remaining games and fight to regain some pride. (@peterjo91525330)
We were unlucky at Bristol and got what we deserved tonight, a great team performance. Hunts made a difference - everyone was my man of the match (@GeoffRo39583097)
Good result but we have played better and lost! The difference the defence looked better and goalie actually saved a shot or 2. These fine margins have been lacking, Diamond was awesome, Ellis getting fitter and Mellish is a centre back ! The runs Mellish made were class! (@mincerayder)
Brewer's droop? Thankfully, they certainly did. You know it's been a good performance when you could give the man of the match award to half a dozen of them. I'd almost forgotten what it was like. And for once, I'm not talking about my love life. (@1StevieKilner)
Pleased for everyone associated with the club. It’s been a horrible season so far. Hopefully now we can pick up a few more positive results before the end of the season. (@Halpinforpope)
Great result….. at last! Coincidence that once Hunts comes in we keep a clean sheet? (@cufc_andy17)
Fight and determination in abundance... It's all we ask for and a win and a clean sheet tops it off nicely, nice to know that they haven't thrown the towel in and they are still playing for Simmo, forgot how good it feels (@cufccraig1983)
Good grafting performance! (@Invisiblebear84)
Just relief (@Blencath007)
Maybe we should play on a beach every week (@Dougmcd9826)
Quality performance all round (@Muzza74747474)
