A MAJOR West Cumbrian speedway charity event has been postponed due to bad weather forecasts and an already waterlogged track.
There was bad news for everyone planning to head to Workington for the Ben Fund Bonanza on Saturday, March 16 when it was announced that the meeting had to be called off in advance due to the weather.
The Bonanza had been initially lined up for an early restaging on Sunday, March 24 at 2pm.
But in a message on March 15, organisers said they were pushing it back even further due to 'commitments abroad'.

A date will be found later in the season.
The Ben Fund Trustees explained: “We want the field to be the best we can get, which it would have been had Saturday gone ahead.
“We believed next Sunday would have been suitable as there were no fixtures in the UK.”
Chairman Paul Ackroyd added: “I’d like to thank Workington for being so supportive. They had planned a really big day with additional entertainment for everyone’s enjoyment, and in due course we will get the kind of event we all want.”
