Carlisle United fans gave us their views on social media platform X after the 2-2 draw with Stevenage - here is a selection of their comments.
That was a brutal one. Loads of good stuff but lack of fresh legs killed it. Armstrong and Charters looked out on their feet. (@thervd)
Encouraging performance with some players showing why they’ll be here next year but ultimately because of the late equaliser it fell flat. We should’ve finished them off earlier so a lot of the fan negativity would be absent. (@tim_martland)
Positives: 3 performances to justify starting places next season - Butterworth, Neal & Ellis. Two well worked goals Negatives: useless finishing (Butterworth excepted), poor control of the ball when in possession, particularly towards the end. Breeze in goal from now on please. (@MikeEwins)
As soon as they pulled one back I felt like we were going to concede again. Plus some changes needed made as some of the team were knackered. Such a shame as there was some encouraging signs of life today. (@DJGale1983)
It felt like Stevenage only had one shot and somehow they got a point. Silly tackle for the penalty. CUFC should have had more goals. Charters didn't pull the trigger & surprised Diamond didn't score along with another for Butterworth & Armstrong. Passing better most of the time (@OliverWarnes)
Vastly improved performance, at last some urgency and direct football. We should have had at least five goals today but for poor finishing. Gutted that we let Stevenage off the hook. Concerned about Lewis, personally think he is no better than what we already have. (@peterjo91525330)
Much better all round. We were on top for 75 minutes. We can’t seem to see out a game properly. At least I came away having enjoyed a good performance for 80% of the match. Steve Evans seemed happy and relieved Stevenage were let off the hook. A pity, as his rants are priceless (@AyeCumbrian)
On a day when Butterworth shows he can play a bit and we look like a team not rooted on the bottom against the old enemy in Stevenage, we spectacularly manage to throw away a comfortable 2-0 lead. Far too complacent 2nd half as the MF disappeared and the defence failed in the end (@LindaNi121202)
Derek Mountfield told us later, 'just kick it into row z that late on', sadly not, positive link up between Armstrong and Butterworth was good, but we keep on finding ways not to win (@keithelliott94)
Travelled up with my 4 year old for his first game and the club were great, he's unfortunately not a talisman. We ought to have won that, they were there for the taking. (@krisfoster)
Let’s focus on the fact we are now scoring goals. That first one at least means we’ve a goal of the season that wasn’t a free kick from a departed player (@JHallHDI)
1 substitution at 2-0...I’m firmly Simmo in but that ending is on him (@Invisiblebear84)
Great subs again...Diamond and Armstrong could’ve made it about 5-0 if they took their chances (@Luke05766427)
Could and should have been out of sight, never had as many chances all season. Butterworth was outstanding and covered every blade of grass. Dubious pen that we never get and then panic stations gives a very poor Stevenage a point. Lewis doesn't fill me with confidence, would rather have Breeze (@ericgreen866)
Mellish should have cleared before we conceded the penalty (@Joecufc2006)
No words - disappointed (@lizmoore57)
Played well enough to have expected a win. That’s progress, whatever the bed-wetters tell you. (@ostrichtowers)
