A Carlisle MMA Fighter has retained his featherweight title and extended his winning streak.

Carlisle-based Charlie Walker, fighting out of Lorne Stree's Tapout Knockout Carlisle, became the first man to defend his title at the Unity Fighting Championship.

The event, which was held in Darlington on Sunday, June 2, saw Walker secure victory via a judge's decision against fellow featherweight Joseph Kenworthy.

News and Star: Walker was supported in his corner by Pawel Pyszora, Liam Graham, and coach Michael who watched him win the five-round bout and extend his record to six victories.

After Charlie's successful title defence, his coach Michael expressed his pride in his fighter.

He said: "As a coach, I study all our opponents checking for their strong point as well as their weak points, so in this fight we knew his opponent would try to take Charlie down so we did all the preparation work and came to the cage with our game plan set out and so far Charlie has won every time making him now 6-0-0.

"As his coach, I'm more than proud of his performance. "
