CARLISLE United have announced that striker Anton Dudik has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The 19-year-old Ukranian forward initially signed a short-term deal with the Blues after impressing on trial in January.

Since arriving at Brunton Park, Dudik has made two first-team appearances off the bench against Cambridge and Wycombe and also scored three goals in seven appearances for United's youth team.

After the young striker's new deal was announced, boss Paul Simpson was on hand to discuss Dudik's potential and the desire to get him regular football in the upcoming campaign.

Speaking on the club's website, he said: "We're pleased Anton has agreed to stay with us.

"He will start pre-season training with us then we'll look at the potential of a loan move to get him some regular first-team football

"He's now too old to play in our youth team as an overaged player, but he's someone we think will continue to develop and we're excited to see how that goes over the next 12 months."

Before moving to Carlisle Dudik previously represented Volyn Lutsk and Shakhtar Donetsk in his native Ukraine and Slask Wroclaw in Poland.
